Dr Shaoying Tan, MD, PhD, is a Chief Physician in Ophthalmology. She is currently working as a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Optometry at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr Tan specializes in the fields of neuro-ophthalmic diseases and glaucoma. Her research interests include the pathogenesis, clinical features, and therapeutic strategy on autoimmune optic neuropathy, as well as the assessment of visual function and intraocular pressure fluctuation in glaucoma. Dr Tan has received supports from several national research grants. She has also graduated from the Leadership Development Program, Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO). In addition, she serves as the Associate member, Women in Ophthalmology (WIO), APAO; Committee member of Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NOS), Chinese Medical Doctor Association; Standing Committee member of Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NOS), Chinese Research Hospital Association (CRHA); Committee member of Neural Regeneration and Repair Committee, CRHA. She is the immediate past President of Youth Committee of NOS of CRHA.
