Boris Malyugin is from Moscow, Russia Deputy Director of Fyodorov Institute of Ophthalmic Microsurgery.
He is the current president of the Russian Ophthalmic Society (since 2016), a member of the International Eye Implant Club and the International Ophthalmic Society, a member of the International Council of Ophthalmology, and an honorary member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Malyugin is a world-renowned authority in the field of anterior segment surgery.
He is famous for developing the Malyugin ring. He was named one of the 100 most influential ophthalmologists in the world by Ophthalmologist magazine in 2018, 2022, and 2022, respectively.
Dr. Malyugin has been awarded the highest honors for anterior segment surgeons by international and domestic organizations, including ASCRS (Bingham Medal), UKISCRS (Pierce Medal), ESCRS (Bingham Medal), ISRS (Krichinger Medal), HSIOIRS (Kelman Award), SOI (Scapa Medal), BRASCRS (Kelman Medal), and AAO (Achievement Award).
Dr. Malyugin has delivered over 15 keynote speeches and has been invited to participate in on-site surgeries at domestic and international conferences multiple times.
He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and made contributions to ophthalmic surgery video journals and atlases.
